Description

Devil's claw is a herb. The botanical name, Harpagophytum, means "hook plant" in Greek. This plant gets its name from the appearance of its fruit, which is covered with hooks designed to connect with animals in order to spread the seeds. The roots and tubers of the plant are used to make medicines.

Devil's claw is used to treat back pain, osteoarthritis, rheumatoid arthritis (RA), and other painful conditions.

How does it work?
Devil's claw contains chemicals that can decrease inflammation and swelling and relieve pain. Harpagofito (devil's claw) has been the subject of many studies, from which it appears that it is useful in these cases:

Inflammation.- Its main component is harpagoside, which intervenes in the process by which our body creates inflammation, preventing it from occurring or reducing it. Therefore, Devil's Claw is effective in inflammatory processes such as strokes or in other more serious ones such as arthritis.

Pain.- Devil's claw, in the same way, is a mild analgesic and calms pain in the inflamed area. It is ideal in rheumatic processes.

Appetite and digestion.- It has been concluded that Devil's Claw stimulates the production of bile and, therefore, improves digestion, but it also opens the appetite, so it can also be used in this way. Also, it calms intestinal spasms.

Purifying.- It has been recently seen that Devil's Claw also has a purifying effect on our body and that it can help reduce cholesterol levels. Thus, devil's claw is used in people of a certain age to achieve a full effect.
